This book is a mine of useful information about the canals and waterways that were once used so frequently throughout the world - this book covers the waterways of Great Britain only. Cargoes ranging from coal to grains to china clay all travelled by barge, wherry and narrowboat to various points throughout the Kingdom - what a wonderful picture the author paints in such rich detail that warrants a second and even a third look. Highly recommended!!
