John Pelham is a retired extension educator and administrator. He has BS and MS degrees from Texas A&M, and a PhD in Rural Sociology from Mississippi State. He was reared on a small farm near a rural community in Central Texas. These themes run throughout the poems in this collection, as do his lifelong dreams of ranching and being a working cowboy. You will also find included among the poems herein a number of poems inspired by news stories and true accounts John read and heard from friends and associates over the years. The cover of the book is an original painting done by the authoras friend and wife of his high school football coach, Mrs. Jean Carmichael. The author appreciates her help and expertise more than words can say.
