Der Umstellungsprozess k???nnte f???r die Unternehmen mit einem erheblichen Kosten- und Zeitaufwand einhergehen und sollte fr???hzeitig angesto???en werden. Viele Versicherungsunternehmen haben diese Notwendigkeit bereits erkannt und mit den Planungen der Umstellung begonnen. Die Auswirkungen dieses Umstellungsprozesses auf die Jahresabschl???sse und das operative Gesch???ft der Unternehmen sind noch nicht hinreichend gekl???rt und sind aktuell Gegenstand zahlreicher wissenschaftlicher und praktischer Untersuchungen. Im Zentrum der Arbeit steht, neben einer Darstellung der regulatorischen Grundlagen von Versicherungsvertr???gen, die Aufarbeitung des aktuellen Projektstands "Insurance Contracts" des IASB. Hierzu werden neben einer ausf???hrlichen Betrachtung des Entstehungsprozesses und der bilanziellen Regelungen des finalen Standards "Insurance Contracts" auch Auswirkungen der ???nderungen auf die Rechnungslegung und Abschlusserstellung von Versicherungsunternehmen in Europa er???rtert. Im Rahmen einer Analyse von Comment Letter und Gesch???ftsberichten werden theoretische und praktische Probleme der Versicherungsberichterstattung dargestellt.
