This book seeks to understand how these representations are constructed and whether they are as progressive and edgy as producers and media responses would suggest. This book explores the extent to which cultural productions such as East West 101 , The Combination and Cedar Boys open up a space for new understandings of the place of Arab and Muslim Australians in contemporary Australia. Importantly it considers the role of the Special Broadcasting Service in the plight of anti-racism.
