Each of us have a difficult journey, but we were particularly inspired and touched by Mike's decision to assist in the equal rights movement for same sex couples. We have been together over 16 years, and would love to have the same rights afforded to straight couples. Religion in general brings about judgement and guilt in areas where there shouldn't be any. Especially when leaders of these religions live separate lives from what they preach from the pulpit. Thanks Mike for having the courage to have a huge impact on our lives and others in the future. This is a must read book for both straights and gays that live in fear from religion. We should all be interested in equality for all.

Eyeopening!
A lot of bookstores refuse to carry this book, refuse to let Mike Jones hold signings, etc. Smells like censorship to me - so when I got a chance to meet Mike Jones and buy a book from him, I jumped at it!
This book is an eyeopener! By just listening to news reports on this story, you'll get a very skewed view of 'the real story'. "I Had to Say Something" is an amazing book. It shows the depths of emotion that Mike Jones had to deal with upon learning the identity of the man he knew as "Art from Kansas City". And it explains very well why he decided to speak out about it. Read this book for a clearer view of the entire story and also to follow Mike Jones through one of the most difficult times a man can face.
