This book was written in the 50's but if you're seriously interested in quitting smoking, DON'T let that stop you! The book is fabulous! It even had a money back guarantee when it was published (at 25 cents). I'm here to tell you that it works. It's well written and the author empathizes with the difficulty (to say the least) in quitting smoking. He even suggests that if you feel like lighting up while you're reading, go right ahead. He starts out by discussing why smoking is so enjoyable in so many ways. He gradually introduces why it isn't and what it does to you. Eventually, he emphasizes how important it is to quit for yourself, not for anyone else and how important it is to be ready. You get pointers on the best times to stop and how to know when the time is right. The great thing about it is that there's no pressure, no scare tactics and you get lots of encouragement and reassurance. Obviously, I highly recommend it!
