This is an astounding book! At home in the living room for entertaining reading or in the shop for working on the car. The text is humorous, informative and clearly written. The chapters are well laid out, with easy to access index and troubleshooting / maintenance guides. To top it off there are a multitude of drawings which are clear and well labelled to guide you along. Spiral binding means it can lay open on table or bench! Pros: well written and informative, easy to follow, with drawings and guides to assist you. Explains difficult concepts clearly, and complex procedures simply and step by step. Cons: Not many - unfortunately the author died before the book was finished, and it was published in 1980, so the later (88 and up) are not really covered well. The covers are a bit fragile because of the spiral binding, but not too bad. Does NOT cover Digifant or Motronic systems. Overall a delightful read, which has the added benefit of being useful for the Rabbit, Golf or Cabriolet owner. More of a classic bookshelf book than a shop book. Recommended - If you can find a copy!
