House of Spirits and Whispers
House of Spirits and Whispers was a very suspenseful book. During the first few chapters, I found myself bored with the reading. The author is trying to give the reader a set-up of the house etc. but I forced myself to continue reading. Once I got past those chapters, I started to become captivated with the author's description of the strange occurrances that she was living with and could hardly put the book down until I finished it. I would recommend this book but be patient and get through the first few chapters. It really is worth it to keep reading!

Too much information
Life in a haunted house should be an interesting subject for a book, but this author annoyingly insists on loading her story with every new age fad one can think of: shamanism, astral projection, reincarnation, reiki, feng shui, Chaka healing , and even Shirley MacLaine. The ghost story is lost among all of these distractions. All books in this genre invite some skepticism, but one gets the impression that this author would believe just about anything.
