Designed by Germany's Horten brothers, the Ho 229 was the world's first jet-powered flying wing aircraft. Only three prototypes were completed. In 2018, the only surviving Horten Ho 229 (central section) was placed on display in the main hall of the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, alongside other WWII German aircraft.
