When the teaching of Jesus lays out principles for spiritual survival, we should take notice of them. Just knowing what those are is a start but understanding how those principles operate is just as important. Perhaps one of the most vital principles found in the Lord's prophetic warnings is patience. Jesus states several times that "in our patience we possess our souls". We should understand this virtue that is so often thought to be difficult to obtain, is indeed attainable. Along with the principle itself, the process of its acquisition has been revealed in the scripture. It is the examination of this process, especially as it relates to the days we are living in, to which we will turn our attention as the pages of this book are read.
