Rhonda stepped inside the lobby door, lugging packages, moving past both men as she made her way to the row of mailboxes. She took her time setting her packages down and arraigning them so they would not fall. She faced the wall of mailboxes as she thought what to do next. She slowly turned and looked from man to man. She asked "did anyone bring my keys?" Tony started to speak, but Rhonda held up a well-manicured index finger. Alonzo then started to speak and Rhonda quickly shook her head. Rhonda extended her hand palm up as Tony slowly dropped her keys into her hand. Rhonda turned and opened her mailbox. She removed a few letters and sorted through them. Stalling, she was thinking of what she would say and do next. Stacking the letters neatly in her freshly manicured hands, she slowly turned to face both men. She cleared her throat and stared at the men with more confidence than she actually felt. She spoke slowly and intently. "Listen, I know that I left rather abruptly the other day and I know that I have been gone for a few days. We don't have to rehash that fact. I know that you both are looking for an explanation, well, I'm sorry, I don't have one. All I can say is that when I left out of here Friday, I was a confused and lonely woman. When I came back this morning, I have never been surer of myself and what I want out of life." This was an obvious lie. From the time that she met up with Stephon until that moment, neither man entered her mind. Both men looked at each other and then at Rhonda like she had lost her mind. Alonzo asked the first questions. "Woman, what in the world are you talking about? Are you drunk, high or both?" Tony added by asking "So you leave out of here without an explanation on Friday, stay away all weekend, show up Monday like nothing happened and I am just supposed to be like, alright, I understand? Well, I don't understand, you owe me an explanation. I came back to California to be with you. I want to live with you. I want to make a life with you. I want to love you. Do you understand?" Alonzo butted in saying "Look Rhonda, I feel the same way. I want us to build a life together. While you were gone, it tore me apart inside. I can't stand the thought of losing you. When I saw you with Tony it drove me crazy, but I did not want to drive you away. I just wanted to let you know that I am the best man for you. Tony not to be outdone chimed in. "Rhonda, look what we have been through, I got you out of debt and taught you how to save money. I hooked you up with this condo. I bought you everything you wanted and I spent a ton of money on you." Rhonda had to make the toughest decision of her life. What would she do?
