This is a truly wonderful book - filled with portraits of circa 1850 Native Americans supplemented with short biographical narratives. I only wish - that - we had a study of this quality for Pre-Columbian Indians. Some much lost - but - were it not for a few farsighted individuals - all would have been lost. I highly recommend.
