Contemporary full calf with gilt borders, gilt fillet turn-ins, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt. Both boards are a bit bowed and nearly detached, with wear to the board edges and spine, else very good, the interior text pages are clean and tight with light scattered spotting. A scarce, supplementary volume to the celebrated "Histoire littéraire de France, " initiated in 1733 by Dom Rivest and the Benedictines of St. Maur.
