High Hurdles has the best title, that I have seen so far. Dj Randall has a dream and wants to follow no matter what stands in her way. She has no money and no horse to even get into showjumping, however that is not the worst part. He mother will not support her daughter or her dream. DJ soon finds a way to try her dream. She begins working at The academy, run by a former French National Equestrian Team member. When DJ realizes that no one will support her dream, she turns her heart and prays to the one that will always be there, God.
I love reading about horses, as I have loved horses since I first saw them. Despite the main character being only 12 years of age, it shows that no matter what if you have a dream, follow it no matter what others think. If it is meant to be then yourself along with our heavenly father will make it so. I love following Dj as she jumps hurdles to finally get what she wants. A mother that blames her for everything, her mother's current boyfriend is even worse. Though her grandparents are very supportive of the young girl. Later her birth father shows up and actually treats DJ as the most precious thing that there is, his daughter.
I love this story as, I felt God's presence, as well as the horses. I have already re-read this book more then once. If you love horse's or God.....read it. It is excellent.
