Our hero is sent from his home in Australia to the U.K. with a warrant to arrest the High Commissioner on a murder charge. Really unusual idea! Because the Commissioner is a key player in efforts to end the Vietnam War, he asks for some time, which is granted. As Malone goes around with the man, he begins to like him and sees evidence that he did not in fact commit the murder with which he is charged. Almost everything falls apart as the result of a plot against the efforts to end the war. A most interesting plot, and a well-written story.
