In order to achieve this, the current state of debate on each lemma is examined, critically assessed and brought to a conclusion. Where necessary, quotes from original sources are also provided along with suggestions for new approaches. Since Hittite is part of the network of Anatolian languages, the volume also takes the Luwian languages into account in order to also evaluate the findings in these less well-documented neighboring languages. Thanks to the progress made in the coverage of both philological as well as Anatolian and Indo-Germanic elements, this study can be considered as exemplary for the research of word-formation in the Anatolian languages. German descriprtion: Michael Georg Maier geht in seiner Studie von rein graphischem uant- im Hethitischen aus, um das indogermanische Possessivsuffix *-uent- herauszuarbeiten und von anderen Wortbildungstypen zu scheiden. Dafur wird im Hauptteil der Untersuchung fur jedes Lemma die entsprechende Diskussion in der Forschung beleuchtet, kritisch gegeneinander abgewogen und mit einem wertenden Resultat abgeschlossen; wo notig werden Originaltextstellen erganzt und neue Ansatze vorgeschlagen. Da das Hethitische in die anatolischen Sprachen eingebunden ist, werden auch die luwischen Sprachen hinzugezogen, um den Befund in diesen weniger gut bezeugten Nachbarsprachen ebenfalls auszuwerten. Zusammen bilden diese Sprachen die Gruppe der am fruhesten uberlieferten indogermanischen Sprachen, die erst gegen Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts entdeckt wurden und daher noch weniger philologisch und linguistisch ausgearbeitet sind als ihre Schwestersprachen. Die Ergebnisse werden in einem eigenen Abschnitt zusammengefasst und stehen in einem Anhang ausserdem uberblicksartig zur Verfugung. Mit ihren Fortschritten sowohl in philologischer als auch in anatolistischer und indogermanistischer Hinsicht kann die Untersuchung so als exemplarisch fur die Behandlung der Wortbildung der anatolischen Sprachen uberhaupt gelten.
