But as the work has been brought to the attention of the public by Members of Congress, we think some notice may be taken of the many lies con tained in the work of this vile wretch (helper). And in refuting his would-be arguments, and by correcting his Statistics, and calling the attention of the public to the incendiary portions of his infamous work, we will not allow ourselves, like Helper, to descend so much beneath the dignity of humanity.
