Unlike the west, the East was never influenced by Aristotelian scholasticism that became the new lens for which the church of the west adopted to reinterpret ancient Christianity and Judaism. In the east, much is not broken between Judaism and Christianity as seeming defined by the ancient ecumenical councils, for much of Judaism is retained in worship and practice in the East. Heart Centered Counseling demonstrates the reconciliation of opposites as complements rather than continual opposing poles. This reconciliation gradually melts away the ill and evil of passions and addictions and the roots of mental health difficulties arising from anxiety and depression. Complements work with one another as the spinning of the Yin and the Yang, Spiritual counseling leads one to realize the soul's spiritual calling through trials. In fact, the means and end of one's trials raise awareness as to that person's meaning and purpose for living.
