This excellent LP (which unaccountably leaves out the recording dates of its 16 selections) features the best recordings by Earl Hines's Orchestra during 1932-34 (prior to signing with Decca) and 1937-38. Highlights include the initial version of "Rosetta," asuch Jimmy Mundy charts as "Cavernism" and "Madhouse," a small-group romp on "Honeysuckle Rose" and early examples of Ray Nance's trumpet on the later tracks.
