Warwick Reynolds. Fair. Book. 4to-over 9¾-12" tall. No date given, c1930. Illustrated. Dark olive boards with cover illustration. Heavy wear to the boards with edges torn, heavy soiling; previous owner's inscriptions on inside title pages. Less common title in the U.S. as the U.S. (non British) edition. Henry Mortimer Batten (1888-1958) was born in Otley, Yorkshire. In the 1920s he became a well-known lecturer and broadcaster for the B.B.C. from its earliest days and was very well known for his natural history articles and stories about wild animals and birds which were collected in numerous books.
