Or, the cha cha beat of Jerry Butler's "He Will Break Your Heart," with Curtis Mayfield playing guitar and shadowing Butler's lead. Johnny Taylor's breakout record, "Who's Making Love," with its jerky rhythm and risque storyline established the former soul stirrer. The southern falsetto sound of "Tell It Like It Is," by a young Aaron Neville made many take notice of the New Orleans sound. A good album for newcomers to soul.
