Truly one of the funniest books I have ever read! Rollins is stern and insightful but for some reason, it comes off as humorous and slapstick at times... Also, an interesting look at punk music pre-Nirvana when all a band could hope for was to sign to an indie and tour and play every night with no expectation of "making it."

Incredible.
Reading this book is like reading the diaries of a soldier. Black Flag was an intense lifestyle, very well documented in Henry Rollins' no bullsh** style. Absolutely essential for anyone to whom this kind of music means anything to, anyone who sees the bars or Raymond Pettibon artwork and gets a chill, anyone who likes true stories of life on the road under some fairly extreme circumstances.
