Dieser Band enthalt die Vortrage, die auf einem Symposium des Bayreuther DFG-Graduiertenkollegs 'Geistiges Eigentum und Gemeinfreiheit' gehalten wurden. Nach einer Einfuhrung in die besondere Problematik der Patentrechtsgeschichte ziehen die Beitrage einen Bogen vom Privilegienwesen des 'Alten Reichs' bis zu den Patentgesetzen beider deutschen Staaten vor der Wiedervereinigung. Die einzelnen Beitrage vermitteln einen ersten Uberblick uber die Geschichte des deutschen Patentrechts in Deutschland.
