It rounds off and resolves a pleasingly diverse set of movements that begins with a Bartókian idiom. You could sample the opening "Vineyard Reggae" movement of the New England Travelogue, which delivers just what the title promises and introduces a set of convincing New England scenes. The smaller pieces, two of them featuring oboist Jennifer Johnson, are more abstract, but no less accessible.
