This book gives in-depth information (with source locations) for our German ancestors assimilating in early Texas pioneer days. The first 1/4 of the book is a little dry with charts and statistics, but quickly moves into the differences Germans found in Texas farming methods vs. those in Germany. The story continues to unfold throughout The Republic of Texas and the State of Texas. Good reading. You will want to underline a lot. I have already bought three extra copies to give away to my German ancestry friends.
