S. H. Ball 3 describes what appears to have been originally a part of the same upland, in the Georgetown quadrangle, whose southwest corner (latitude 39??? longitude 105??? lies 10 miles due east of the mouth of Georgia Gulch (pl. I, in pocket). Ball concluded that this upland dates from late Tertiary time, which is probably a moderate estimate of its antiquity.
