He was a millwright and lived in Brandywine hundred, where he died May 1827, aged 63 y. 8 m. 19 d. The above children are mentioned in their father's will, but the records of some of them are wanting. Children of Jtobcrt Dutton (No. 13, ) and. 58. Susanna. 59. Hannah. John Crosby of Ridley in his will, dated Sept. 22, 1750, and proven Oct. 15, 1750, mentions his cousins (nieces?) Susanna and Hannah, daughters of Robert Dutton, which is all that is known of them. Children of James Dutton (No. 14, ) and Hannah 60. John, died July 5, 1799, aged 48 years; probably unmarried. 61. James, resided in Philadelphia on Front Street just above Coates, during the latter part of his life. It is not known that he was ever married. His death occurred Jan. 8, 1813, and in his will, dated Nov. 26, 1812, he devised '200 in trust lo keep in repair the wall itc. of the Coates burying ground, where his lather, mother, brother John, and aunt Sarah Evans had been buried, and where he wished to be buried. He also directed his executors to place a large stone across all their graves, with dales of births aud deaths as in his old bible. This burying ground is now covered with buildings; the bodies having been removed several yeare ago to South Laurel Hill Cemetery. The inscriptions on the stones were copied into a book, but the Dutton stone was broken and not preserved.
