This is followed by examples of research which illuminate the nursing care of specific groups of patients. Finally, the focus moves to a number of more general nursing issues such as pressure area care, the role of clinical observations and manpower planning. The book concludes with a chapter which glimpses into the future and examines the role of research as a change agent.
