A twenty-week anatomy ultrasound is something most parents look forward to as a very special time in the pregnancy process. The discovery of a baby's gender is incredibly exciting for parents. My husband and I were no exception as we waited the long five months to find out whether we were having a boy or girl. Our gender reveal party-'Staches or Lashes-was scheduled for the very next day with family and friends, and we couldn't wait to share the news.Finding out there were three concerning images during our ultrasound led us on a completely different pregnancy journey than we could have ever imagined. Suddenly, with the unexpected report of a possible genetic abnormality, the pregnancy we had envisioned completely changed, and we found ourselves on the most emotional roller coaster we have experienced in our lives so far.My hope is that this book will provide encouragement for those who are going through similar situations. My pregnancy with my son was one of the hardest times in my life, and I sought out as much information as I could in hopes of finding positive stories and words of encouragement. I hope and pray my story will provide comfort and peace to anyone who feels alone in their pregnancy. You are not alone. Samantha Williams lives in the Pacific Northwest and is married to the love of her life. Samantha and her husband spend most of their free time chasing their two children around, who never seem to run out of energy. Samantha graduated from George Fox University in 2011 and worked at The Portland Clinic before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She is no stranger to grief in pregnancy, having experienced premature labor, an ectopic pregnancy, a miscarriage, and having been diagnosed with IUGR and preeclampsia in her fourth pregnancy. Her faith in the Lord has helped her overcome the pain associated with loss and also fueled a desire to help others who have suffered in pregnancy.
