In 1990, a few months prior to this CD, Mel Tormé recorded a set with his trio at the Concord Jazz Festival, which climaxed with three songs with the Frank Wess-Harry Edison Orchestra. This particular CD is similar and just as enjoyable. With the assistance of pianist John Campbell, bassist Bob Maize, and drummer Donny Osborne, Tormé is swinging on "Shine on Your Shoes" and a medley of "Don't 'Cha Go 'Way Mad" and "Come to Baby Do."
