A solid supplement.
This book has been a great resource, providing clear, frank, and useful information about visiting these two great cities. Things change rapidly though, with plenty of time for new venues to appear, old ones to disappear, road construction, etc. I recommend this book for sure, but I don't suggest relying on it exclusively. Even if you opt for the new 2007 edition, time marches on, so supplement with current resources like the city tourism website(s), BC Tourism brochures, and Google Maps, for example, and you'll be all set.
