Fascinating, easy-to-read overview
An interesting survey of a subject we are all familiar with but probably don't know much about. The Anchor science study books are short, quick reads written on a level appropriate for the layman, and this book follows in that tradition. Occasionally delves into a bit more detail than the casual reader will be interested in, but the central concepts on what causes friction make it well worth the read.
