Productions by both U.S. and foreign companies made between 1900 and 1977 are included. Entries are categorized by type and fully annotated, including cast lists. The focus of Frame by Frame I is the presence and participation of blacks - an emphasis that illuminates their important contributions to the art of filmmaking.
