Very Good. No dust jacket as issued. Book Likely First Edition dated 1880 on the title page with no additional printings listed. Tightly bound in blue cloth with moderate shelf and edge wear. The contents show numerous illustrations of Native American artifacts and environments. The endpapers show minor scuffing and the rear hinge is loosening, remains very good. This copy is from a 19th Century private lending institution, the Mercantile Library of New York City. There is a handwritten number and Mercantile Library stamp on the title page and some of the internal pages and their bookplate on the front pastedown. There are no other indications of the library's ownership.
