Identity of consonant sounds, usually but wrongly restricted to the Opening consonants of two words. It may refer to the similarity between the consonant sounds of syllables. Anacrusis. An unemphatic syllable preceding the regular rhythm of the verse. Frequently this syllable seems to belong to the final foot of the preceding line. See p. 36.
