Light wear, flyleaves tanned and the frontispiece and adjacent leaves lightly foxed, very good or better. Inscribed on the front fly: "Fall 1922 / To my old friend Doctor Joseph Phillips with the best wishes of the author / Bert Levy." A collection of short stories with autobiographical elements by vaudevillian, film producer, and author Bert Levy. Includes an 18-page preface, detailing Levy's early life in Australia, his talents as an artist, and travels to Britain and the United States. He writes of meeting Mark Twain, drawing his portrait, and taking a train trip with Twain to the West Coast. Born in Australia to Jewish parents, Levy performed as a vaudevillian, appeared in numerous Broadway productions (circa 1915-1922), and later worked in film.
