Salvation is about living life here to the full as much as it is about gaining eternal life. Jesus meets both needs with the Gospel. He invites all who labour and are overburdened to come to him and find rest. When those labouring under the overwhelming burden of the Law came, he simplified it for them: love of God and love of neighbour. You don't have to put on the right shoe before the left shoe or tie the left shoe lace before the right as the Law strictly stipulated. What is important is that you don't go around kicking people with your shoe. "The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes of mind" - William James, psychologist. Attitude change - conversion, that's what Jesus is all about. The quality of life is improved, more by changed view of life, than by changed circumstances. The reflections in this book inspire this change.
