All the other planets revolve on the outside of the earth's orbit, and may be seen, at different times, at all angular distances from the sun in the heavens. 1161. Illustrate by the figure. "When the earth is at E, Mars might be at M, or in opposition to the sun, and would rise in the east about the time the sun was setting in the west. 1162.
