I've become a confirmed fan of Mary Connealy's over the last few years but I think Fire & Ice might hold the record for my fastest reading time of one of her books. I picked it up in the evening and couldn't put it down until I finished early, early, in the morning, or rather late that same night.
I've been looking forward to Bailey and Gage's story since the first book in the series, and, believe me, Fire & Ice did not disappoint.
Mary Connealy is a master at writing Christian westerns. There is always comedy, mystery, and plenty of cowboys and romance.
I truly enjoyed Fire & Ice but I'm sorry to see the end of crazy adventures of the Wilde sisters, though, this book did nicely sew up the loose ends, including solving the mystery of what happened to Bailey during the Civil War. Gosh, I had thought I had it figured out, but nope, Mary Connealy sure surprised me on that one.
I would recommend any of Mary Connealy's books, but definitely Fire & Ice and the entire Wild At Heart series.
(I received a copy of this book from Bethany House in exchange for my honest review. All opinion are entirely my own.)

Third book in Wild at Heart series!
Fire and Ice by Mary Connealy is the third book in the Wild at Heart series. Fire and Ice is set in Aspen Ridge, Colorado in 1866. Bailey Wilde has built her home so it blocks the access to Gage Coulter's canyon. He owns the whole canyon, but Bailey wants it for her cattle. He never thought to purchase that rocky parcel of land that is the entrance to the canyon. Gage is determined to get access to for his cattle.
Gage's mother is coming to visit. She believes that Gage is married (he told her that to keep her from visiting). Now Gage needs a wife (you know where this is going). Bailey is the closest eligible female around and it does not hurt that Gage is attracted to her feisty personality. Will Bailey be willing to help him out?
Fire and Ice is a cute book but not very original. The setting of Aspen Ridge in the Rockies is just lovely, the writing is good, and the characters are interesting. I think I was at a disadvantage because I had not read the two other books in the series (I did not know it was part of a series when I picked it). In order to understand all the personal relationships and their shared histories, you really do need to read the other novels. I give Fire and Ice 3.5 out of 5 stars.
I received a complimentary copy of Fire and Ice from The Book Club Network Inc. and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
