To his credit, he has good, if predictable, taste, recruiting songs by Travis Tritt, Marty Stuart and Randy Travis. There's also a fair share of mediocre material by the likes of the Lynns, Kostas and Marty Grebb, which keep the record from being a consistently enjoyable listen. But that doesn't really matter, since anyone who buys Fire Down Below is only interested in the two songs where Steven Seagal sings. He sings two duets, one with Randy Scruggs and one with Taj Mahal, and on both he flirts with the embarrassing.
