Inscribed on the front free endpaper, "To ______/ With accumulated regard of many years/ The Author/ Frederick Warde/ 1920" Further inscriprion in a different hand and ink that the book was persented to Mrs. R.A. Purdy in 1924 and, on the nfront paste down a 1934 notation that the book was to be presented to the Actor's Fund upon her death. 310 pp. plus one page publisher's ads. Illustrated with full apge portarits of famous actors and actresses. Very good or a bit better. Reminiscences of a hlf cnetury on the stage by Frederick Warde (d. 1935), a British Shakesperian actor who relocated to the United Sattes in the late 19th century. He is credited with discovering Douglas Fairbanks and, in 1912, starred in a silent film of Richard III which is thought to be the oldest surviving feature film.
