The first part of this book, when the author was starting out in ballet was quite magical and surprising and absorbing. And her meeting with Yehudi Menuhin was wonderful reading. Later, when she toured the world and saw to his every comfort, a feeling of perplexity occurred, mainly because of the children who were sent to various schools, mostly looked after by others while the author looked after the violinist. And, too, there is the dismay on page 115 on reading that Yehudi Menuhin smashed through the adjoining wall of their separate cabins, the said panel becoming 'the splintered remains of the Orient Express's best and most ancient marquetry' ! But romantically because he wished to be able to see and speak to his wife.
But what, in the end, a tale of love and travel and experiences and celebrities - even Nehru. All in all a 'Must Read'.
