Clean red binding with lively gilt decoration of barrows, buckets, rakes, shovels, and seed flats; spine also in gilt somewhat darkened and with chipping at top and bottom of spine and a bit on one spine hinge. Interior clean and bright. First free end page corner torn off. 1853 bookplate of Wm. A Smith. Short list of 9 common vegetables in small hand, pencil, inside rear endpaper at hinge, not a significant defect.
