The Textil- und Kunstgewerbesammlung in Chemnitz, Germany, holds one of the world's largest collections of European textiles. This book, featuring all the textiles from the 1920s, is being published to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the museum. The collection was acquired during the period as material for study and inspiration for the local textile industry. It comprises primarily decorative and upholstery fabrics, as well as original works by Bauhaus artists of Weimar and Dessau and the Munchner and Wiener Werkstatten alongside examples from many other important manufacturers, factories, and designers from all over Europe.
