Using previously unpublished data from the 1981 Census, the book examines this belief. It explores the influence of ethnic origin on the educational attainment, class position, and income levels of various ethnic groups in order to discover whether or not Canada offers the same opportunities to all citizens, regardless of ethnic origin or racial background. This study challenges the myths and misunderstandings about ethnicity and assesses the magnitude and meaning of ethnic inequality.
