In the eyes of popular Urdu writers & critics, ' Esbaat ' is a series of the highest literature, no issue of it can be seen by disconnecting it from another issue. It is actually a Grand Narrative of the great scholarly and literary mind of its editor Ashar Najmi. According to renowned critic Shamsur Rehman Farooqi, 'Esbaat' is the only surviving Urdu magazine that has its editor's imprint on every page. This issue also includes a translation of a complete novel by Abdul Razzaq Gurnah and translations of seven long stories by Milan Kundera. Apart from critical essays by critics on contemporary literary issues, the editorial also poses some important questions to the concerns of contemporary Urdu fiction.
