Until the CPO series instituted by conductor Alun Francis with the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin in 1995, only the Symphony No. 3 had garnered a recording, that for Capitol by Leopold Stokowski and the Stokowski Symphony Orchestra.
