My great aunt Jessie told me this story when I was young. She would trail her fingers along my face and ears to mimic butter melting down my head. The story was always told and never read. I didn't find a print copy of the story until I was an adult. I'm glad this picture book is available for another generation of kids.

Great Folktale!
This is a charming story, based on the old folktale Epaminondas and His Auntie, of a baby oppossum being asked to help his aunty, but getting the directions all mixed up. Children delight in the humor of the baby oppossum's sincerity to do the right thing, the mess he makes of it and his aunty's forgiveness. The illustrations are endearing, as well as hilarious!
