Four highly gifted high school students vie for top honors in an accelerated class at a Christian Divinity School where the instructor, a renowned former student of the school, determines which of the four will win the prestigious award of being named "Archangel," giving that student the right to remain with the school as a teacher-in-training, and eventually going on to greatness, similar to what the class instructor has achieved. Things become irreverent at once when one of the students begins to question the instructor's evaluation methods. When the student begins to gather support from other students the situation becomes volatile, until, finally, it appears that the school may become completely disgraced, leading to chaos and ultimate closure. The instructor and his superior, the Headmaster of the school, are forced to deal with the situation together in an effort to save the school and its reputation. Now a retired high school English teacher, the author has also worked as an operator in a cryogenics plant, as a member of a management team in the lumber industry, as a part owner-operator at a trading post on the Navajo Indian Reservation, and as a Business Manager for a 175,000-acre ranch in northeastern Arizona. He and his wife, Sylvia, have raised seven children, all of which have graduated from Holbrook High School in Holbrook, Arizona. After retirement, he also served on the local school board and has been active as an ordained bishop of a local Christian church. Besides fiction works, he also enjoys writing poetry.
