Good. Primary source materials. An incomplete if intriguing assortment of volumes. The 10 odd volumes offered are: Band 4 from 1778; Band 2, 3, & 4 from 1781; Band 1, 2 & 3 from 1782; Band 1, 3 & 4 from 1783. Many volumes are without title pages at front, and begin with page 5. Ephemeriden der Menschheit oder Bibliothek der Sittenlehre, der Politik und der Gesetzgebung was a German almanac or "Ephemerides of mankind or library of moral doctrine, politics and legislation". Full leather. Bindings are good but rubbed in places. Bright gilt and leather labels on spine. Pages are confusingly consecutively numbered within the 4 issues of each year. It was an organ for the exploration of themes pertaining to the revolutionary impulses charged by the enlightenment. Referred to contemporaneously as a physiocratic journal. Wilhelm Becker's dates correspond (1753-1813). The famous Swiss intellectual, Isaac Iselin (1728-1783)was an editor of the Ephemeriden, and one of the founders of the Helvetic Society (1760) and of the Economical Society (1777).
